The Fellowship was founded in the Diocese of Bristol and is open to Anglican clergy and Licensed Lay people in the Church of England.
Those who are members of the fellowship seek, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to encourage one another to keep their ordination vows.
In order to do this members are expected to:
-
Make a Rule of Life
-
Attend the Fellowship Retreat each year
-
Attend the service of renewal of vows at the annual Retreat
Those wanting to join the Fellowship should have a probationary year, after which they can become full members at the annual service.
Rule of Life
-
Growth in Spiritual Life – this should include regular attendance at Holy Communion, saying the Daily Office and private prayer. It should also include theological and devotional reading.
-
Simple Daily Living – members of the fellowship should consider the management of their finances to balance their personal needs with the needs of the less fortunate within the wider community of the people of God. They should also consider their own need to take adequate rest and recreation, as well as their responsibilities to spend time with their families.
-
Development of supportive relationships between members – Christ has given us a command to love one another as he loves us. Within the fellowship members should seek to deepen and enlarge their fellowship with each other through praying for each other by name and for the wider community, to break down barriers and treat all human beings as equal.
